The grudge is undoing (poem for poet rally 39)

Since I am digginng Haiku, decieded to broaden my learning and try another Japanese form, the Tanka!

Fallen on deaf ears;
The words mean nothing because
Anger prevails hard.
Wash away darkness; today
Brings forth the arms to forgive.

For Poetry Rally 39!

Strong: great thought, good choice of words: I like the 'words mean nothing - Anger prevails hard/heart' - is the latter meant as homonym?

Thanks, Paolo, for introducing the Tanka - this opens very interesting new aspects of japanese verse. Being myself a haiku fan I'll try it out soon :)

very nice tanka! I find them more difficult than haiku myself. I agree with your thoughts in the poem as well. when anger prevails, ears are closed.

Thank you! I can see what you mean, both forms expect you to say much with so little. Very tough indeed! I am loving it though, haiku has become my favorite form.
